The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly |
Oh, the Beatles were trend-setters alright! The lates '50s- early '60s brought forth snazzy black leather. Then, the boys went from Teddy Boy to Trendy Boy with their infamous collarless grey suits (originally designed by the REAL 5th Beatle, Stuart Sutcliffe). 1964 was a year of black suits topped with a bowl-haircut and in '65-'66, more MOD entered their dressingrooms. By 1967, the funky colorful apparell was the style and leave it to the Beatles to go hippie. But by the very late '60s, fashion deteriorated. Ugly stiff denim replaced swingin' leather jackets. Pink undershirts with white over-coats took the place of frilly, hippie shirts. The Beatle fashion trend...died. I think the only fab outfit I saw in 1969-'70 was George's rooftop concert outfit: A red top covered by a huge black, fur coat, GREEN pants, and black/white shoes. After the Beatles broke up, fashion took a wicked toll (mostly on Paul). Yeah, some BIG TIME Beatle boo boos! Its time to take a fashion history with our favorite Liverpudlian lads. The GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY. The GOOD A simple suit was not a bad choice on the lads' part. Its classy, tasteful, and charming. Now isn't that a cute little Macca? These creamy-khahi coats are MOD on our boys. I just love 'em! Would I be offended by bootylicious Beatle brief-bathingsuits? Most certainly not... Red? Yes, red. It looks FABULOUS on Paul. A silk, gold blouse! Ringo, you da bomb, baby! Pin-stripes and turtlenecks make this ONE SEXY PAULIE! This Magical Mystery Tour gear was happening! Paul shows off his "hippie" side in these colorful threads. What a swingin' shirt! Those were the days, my friend. I love that shirt! Its something even I would wear. Ringo and George are looking ADORABLE! Pale yellow frills is just precious on you, Georgie. *Oh dear, what can I do? Beatles in black...* Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the MOD Beatles! The BAD Pretty in Pink? Not especially... ...the hell was he thinking? The UGLY Here's a helpful hint: You KNOW you're old when checkers and stripes seem like a good mix. Paul, I'm embarrassed FOR you!
